The Martyrdom of St. Julian: Blowback America

I wrote an article some time ago about Trump as the "blowback president", who has done more to undermine the American empire, by misadventure and nationalistic idiocy than any other leader in memory. Paradoxically, the Great Revolutionary.

From the Middle East to Russia to China to Latin America, Trump's version of
Obama-redux American "exceptionalism"  has led to a huge decline in the Empire's hegemonic power not to mention endless embarrassment. The Empire used to have at least speedos: now it's naked.

Ugh!  Fat and ugly, hairy and white, with pendulous balls and a small wrinkly penis.  Trump is also naked.

What is NOT to disgust anyone with eyes to see or a nose to smell?

"Blowback"  reveals essential truths. Inspiration is not just the breath of the gods, it is their farts.

Such as is the case with Julian Assange, whose persecution is one long, extended parable.

Obama hoped that by maintaining the threat of extradition and prosecution, without actual steps to carry it out,  Assange would just fade away in the Ecuadorean Embassy. In the meantime, he went after other whistle blowers instead.

But Trump needed to show he was tougher than Barry, who bragged at how good he was at killing.

So Bonny Donny got the mis-named Lenin Moreno to violate international law and allow illegal surveillance and then   the British police to enter the Embassy to throw the ailing Assange in Belmarsh prison in conditions that the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Nils Melzer calls torture, and which the other inmates, many of the murderers labelled sheer cruelty.   Now, the Brits have a show trial, which ignores international legal conventions, basic human rights and British judicial tradition--all under the purview of a biased judge with clear conflicts of interest.

The Mainstream Media have (of course) mostly chosen to ignore the trial.

But those who rely on the Mainstream Media and its endless propaganda don't really count in the fight for human freedom anyway: they are brainwashed, mindless cogs, like the Germans in Dachau who never smelled the bodies burning.

People who actually care about freedom or democracy or free speech, human rights-- and ultimately the truth--look elsewhere-- beyond CNN, MSN, the BBC, WaPo, and the NYT and their ilk, which are run by really, upgraded, better educated and evolved versions of Joseph Goebbels, who, after all,  never graduated from a school of journalism.

The Internet is still free-- for now anyway. For truth-seekers: Seek and ye shall find.  Try MediaLens or ConsortiumNews.

The persecution of Assange is so egregious that it is attracting attention-- just like feeding Christians to the lions used to do.  The crowds applauded the lions. But in the end, Rome adopted Christianity.

As the extradition trial goes on, old reports of American crimes against humanity keep on coming out. The public has a insatiable appetite for sadism. Thus, the ugliness of American power is revealed and its cruelty. And it is clear that we do not have to worry abut Trump making America a fascist state.  Once the inspiration for Hitler, the US of A has been fascistic for a long, long time.

If Assange is extradited and tried, American atrocities will be in the public eye again. Like displaced eyelashes. They cannot be ignored.

If Assange dies, he will join a long list of martyrs, now deified by the press.  Malcolm X.  Martin Luther King, among them. As ever, throughout history, rumor can be more effective than public announcements.  When Jesus was crucified; the Romans never reported it. Not a big thing. The rabbis didn't talk about it. At first, not many people knew what happened.  But the story spread.  After all, Jesus raised the dead.  In his own way, Assange also performed miracles, and if he did not raise the dead, he showed where the bodies lay,  revealing truths that otherwise would have been buried forever.

The American government's persecution of Assange does more to hamstring American power  than Wikileaks could ever do by itself.  But then Wikileaks main reason for being was to expose the same imperial over-reach that promises to make Assange, a holy ghost.

Yes, the Empire is naked.

Thank you Donald.

And, oh, Stormy must have found that thing of yours stomach turning . Kinda like the rest of the world finds America.  Soon, they may no longer want to bend over and take it.
